Network Engineer

Job Summary:

A Cisco Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing network operations. The role involves configuring network devices, troubleshooting connectivity issues, monitoring network performance, and supporting infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure optimal availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity, routing, switching, and performance issues.
  • Implement network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Support LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN environments.
  • Perform system monitoring, patching, firmware upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain network documentation, configurations, and technical procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to support infrastructure projects and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with network security standards and best practices.
  • Participate in incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2–5 years of experience in network engineering or network administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with network monitoring and performance optimization tools is an advantage.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
